Washington, D.C.—The GW Law Moot Court Board is pleased to announce that 3Ls Phillip Beck and Yasawsi (Swi) Raparla have won the 2016 – 2017 Rothwell Intellectual Property Moot Court Competition. Mr. Beck and Mr. Raparla will be representing the law school at the 33rd Annual Giles Sutherland Rich Moot Competition in a couple of weeks.

We also want to recognize the following students who were honored with awards based off their performance in this year’s competition:

Best Overall Competitors: 1st Place – Samuel Cockriel; 2nd Place – Phillip Beck; 3rd Place – Swi Raparla
Best Overall Brief: 1st Place – Stephen Kudla; 2nd Place – Samuel Cockriel; 3rd Place – Barnabas Fekete
Best Overall Advocate: 1st Place – Samuel Cockriel; 2nd Place – Swi Raparla; 3rd Place – Phillip Beck

We would like to thank all of our volunteer judges and especially Chief Judge Paul R. Michel (Retired – Federal Circuit), Meredith Addy (GW Law Alum) and Matt Dowd (GW Law Alum) for judging our finals.
